This is another info graphic I did advocating for snakes. When spring comes around snakes start to come out of hibernation and sometimes will end up in people’s backyards. Snakes around this time are killed left and right, whether it is completely harmless or venomous. I want to urge people to learn about snakes and also to leave snakes alone!

U.N. ORDERS JAPAN TO HALT ANTARCTIC WHALING
The Hague (AFP) - The United Nations’ top court on Monday ordered Japan to end its annual Antarctic whale hunt, saying in a landmark ruling that the programme was a commercial activity disguised as science.
"Japan shall revoke any existent authorisation, permit or licence granted in relation to JARPA II (research programme) and refrain from granting any further permits,” said the International Court of Justice’s Judge Peter Tomka…
Japan had the chance to walk away from it voluntarily, with honor and dignity. Now, it is branded a cheat, and has to bow down saying, “Hai! Hai!” Shame, shame.
Kudos to Sea Shepherd for their amazing campaign!
Still, Northern Pacific whaling, which kills some 500 whales a year, including Sperm whales, continues.

"The delay is troublesome. SeaWorld is tremendously powerful. And in America the lobbyists lead and the politicians follow. That’s the bad news. The good news is that SeaWorld was finally dragged, kicking and screaming, to the table. And in the process the general public is becoming educated. An educated consumer is SeaWorld’s worst enemy." -Ric O’Barry on AB-2140
"Gregor Robertson has said he believes that the Vancouver Aquarium should no longer keep whales and dolphins at its facility in Stanley Park.
In a statement emailed to the Straight, the Vancouver mayor is quoted praising the aquarium for its work in research and conservation. But Robertson adds that he feels the facility should cease holding cetaceans there.
'My personal view is that the Vancouver Aquarium should begin to phase out the holding of whales and dolphins in captivity,” Robertson says in the statement. “I’m hopeful that the Aquarium and the Park Board can work collaboratively and come to an agreement on how to achieve this with a dialogue and review that will be informed, thoughtful, and inclusive.'”
